I have a confession to make. Until this week, I had never read the Little Prince. I know it seems sacrilege for a librarian to admit she never read a classic, but the title never interested me as a child and as an adult I could never be bothered. Until I agreed to review the adapted graphic novel version. After reading the first few pages, I knew I had to go back to the original to review this title with justice.
It’s official. Summer is here. I know. I know, it’s been here for a week, and weather wise, a bit longer, but today was the last day of school in NYC and so now I can say it: its summer. And with onset of summer come thoughts and memories of camp. So, when I recalled that I’d never reviewed Brain Camp, I thought, that’s the best way to start my summer vacation!
I had a hard time navigating the BEA site before the show and only found one session related to Graphic Novels. (I know there had to be more, but I really couldn’t find them.) Luckily, I did find a session moderated by John Hogan
Now, while Book Expo is not regulated to comics, you couldn’t go up and down the exhibit hall and not find out about comics. So here are some of the comics and graphic novels that caught my eyes.

When I purchased Dork Diaries: Tales from a Not-So-Fabulous Life for my library collection September 2009, I never imagined it would become so popular. The book had an interesting premise. It had a catchy pink cover and it seemed like it would fill a niche.
