Unhappy Camper GN – HarperAlley releases the second title from Lily LaMotte and Ann Xu, creators of Measuring Up. Sisters Claire and Michelle used to be best friends, but now they couldn’t be more different. Michelle wants nothing more than to fit in and will do anything to do so, even if it means denying her Taiwanese culture. Claire, on the other hand, embraces it, to the point of becoming a junior counselor at a Taiwanese American summer camp. Their parents, sensing the rift between their daughters, send them both off to camp, much to Michelle’s dismay. But, as she learns more about her culture and her sister, she is confronted with the decision to either embrace her culture and family or assimilate into the popular group at school. Fans of Be Prepared and Sisters will enjoy this heartwarming story.

Dr. Seuss Cat Out Of Water HC – Random House Graphic releases a graphic novel companion to the classic The Cat In the Hat. Sally and her brother face another normal day of normal chores until everything is turned topsy-turvy by the arrival of the Cat in the Hat! The hilarious but chaotic antics of Thing 1 and Thing 2 make the day anything but boring, but Sally’s wise pet, the Fish, warns them about letting the Cat stay. As the Cat’s zany escapades throw them off course, Sally and her brother must wrap up their tasks before their parents return. This title features easy-to-follow paneled storytelling, making it an excellent bridge for young readers transitioning to chapter books.
