Blood City Rollers GN – Labyrinth Road releases a new paranormal graphic novel series for middle school readers. Mina was on the path to ice skating Olympic gold and glory, until she totally wiped out at her biggest competition. She then finds herself kinda-sorta-kidnapped by undead kids on roller skates and sucked into the world of Paranormal Roller Derby. Recruited by a squad of vampires who need a human player to complete their team, she arrives just in time to save the league from losing it all. Between crushing hard on the dreamy team captain and navigating the spooky rules of the supernatural, Mina must not only learn to play derby but also become one of nine chaotic players working together to form their perfectly-imperfect team. This is a perfect addition to any graphic novel collection.

Cupcake Diaries Volume 5 Katie Batter Up GN – Simon Spotlight releases the fifth graphic novel adaptation of this bestselling series. Katie’s friends from the Cupcake Club all have activities outside of making cupcakes, so Katie decides to find her extracurricular niche. It’s batter up when she makes the softball team, but she had doubts about if it’s the kind of batter she really wants to be dealing with. If she makes a mistake, her team could lose! But, by stepping up to the plate, Katie may realize that doing what you love always makes the batter sweeter. Fans of this adaptation and the novel series alike will enjoy this new addition to the series.
