Mad Cave Studios is going all in on this weekend’s American Library Association Annual Conference & Exhibition in Chicago, with activities spotlighting their main line as well as their YA imprint Maverick and their middle-grade imprint Papercutz, which they acquired last year. The publisher will be set up at Booth #1423 and will be featuring appearances by Jennie Wood, writer of Paper Planes, which will be published by Maverick on July 18; Jeremy Whitley, writer of School for Extraterrestrial Girls (vol. 2 is due out from Papercutz on November 28); and Tiny Titans co-creator Art Baltazar, whose original graphic novel Yahgz will be published by Papercutz on August 1. Details on their appearances are below.

In addition to these books, attendees will get a first look at a number of upcoming graphic novels, including the Maverick title Confetti Realms and the Mad Cave titles Don’t Spit in the Wind, Mariko Between Worlds, John Tiffany, and Whisper of the Woods.

Mad Cave Chief Marketing Officer Allison Pond expressed support for librarians in this difficult time of multiple book challenges, saying, “While we celebrate the joy of reading and learning, we also recognize the current discussions surrounding educational book bans. As a company, we stand firmly in support of librarians and teachers and parents who work tirelessly to provide diverse and inclusive literature to their communities. We understand the dynamic state of the industry and empathize with the challenges faced in promoting educational content. At Mad Cave Studios, we strive to create stories that inspire, entertain, and educate. We are dedicated to fostering a love for reading and empowering young minds through the pages of our graphic novels. We look forward to engaging with everyone at the conference, exchanging ideas, and working together to ensure that every reader has access to quality literature as we celebrate the magic of storytelling to make a positive impact in the lives of young readers.”
