July 23, 2009 by Scott Robins   1 comments

The first official day of the convention brought even larger crowds than Wednesday evening. It was truly nonstop fans in the exhibit hall and line-ups for all the great programming at the show. Here’s more photos from the show floor:

Nothing says San Diego Comic-Con than a giant inflated Pikachu.

Viz showcased its kids line of manga with a giant mural.

Everyone loves Naruto!

Bryan Lee O’Malley (Scott Pilgrim series) and his wife Hope Larson creator of Chiggers and the upcoming Mercury pose at the Oni Press booth.

Piles of kids comics at the Oni Press booth.

Papercutz debuted their brand new Geronimo Stilton graphic novels at the show based on the popular character first published in Italy and then by Scholastic as early chapter books.

A great banner showcasing the cover of the second volume of Amulet by Kazu Kibiushi.

A rare shot of the Elsewhere Chronicles artist, Bannister and Jellaby creator, Kean Soo.

Jimmy Gownley, creator of Amelia Rules and his wife Karen Gownley, marketing director behind this popular series.
