The Picks:
Hilda And Twig Hide From The Rain HC – Flying Eye Books releases a new title about everyone’s favorite blue-haired girl. A little rain would never stop Hilda and Twig from going on an adventure, but when a big storm hits, the pair need to find shelter. Following a small bird, they find it in the form of a mysterious mound in the earth. But Twig quickly realizes that he and his best friend are in danger. The small deer-fox has never thought of himself as the brave one, but if he wants to save Hilda from a whole lot of big, scaly trouble, he’s going to need to step up! It’s always a great day when a new Hilda book comes out! This is a must for elementary and middle school libraries.
Last Kids On Earth Volume 1 GN – Viking Books For Young Readers releases the graphic novel adaptation of the bestselling novel series. Thirteen-year-old Jack Sullivan was a foster child who bounced from home to home until he landed in Wakefield, and the monster apocalypse hit. Since then, he has been living in his treehouse, armed with catapults and a moat, and stocked with video games, Oreos, and Mountain Dew. But Jack can’t take on the hordes of Zombies, Winged Wretches, and Vine Thingies alone. He needs a team, especially if he wants to defeat the eerily intelligent monster known only as Blarg. So, with his dorky best friend Quint, reformed middle school bully Dirk, Jack’s loyal pet monster Rover, and the fiercest girl he knows, June, he forms a team intent on slaying Blarg. With their help, Jack can achieve the ultimate Feat of Apocalyptic success and be average no longer! Fans of the novels as well as new readers will love this adaptation.
