Great Turkey Walk GN – Helvetiq releases a translation of a French graphic novel based on an American classic prose novel. In 1860 Missouri, fifteen-year-old Simon Green was discouraged from continuing his schooling. With his mother dead and his father gone to parts unknown, he must find a new path for his life. Hearing that turkeys sell for a higher price in Denver, he buys 1,000 turkeys and decides to herd them from Missouri to Colorado. It will take all of his wit, luck and grit to survive the trek, as well as the help of a colorful cast of characters. Having already won two prestigious graphic novel awards, the grand prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival as well as the ACBD (French Comic Book Critics Association’s Award), this title is finally making its way to the US. No middle school graphic novel collection should be without it.

Wingbearer Saga Volume 2 Wingborn GN – Quill Tree Books releases the second volume in the Wingbearer Saga. With her foundations shaken after her encounter with the Witch-Queen, Zuli is more determined than ever to find out what’s happening to the bird spirits. With Frowly’s and Orien’s help, she mounts a daring escape from a merchant ship. Using the new information about her identity, she sets off to try to solve the mysteries swirling around herself and finds she is drawn to legends about the mythical Siric, who have long since disappeared from the world. With new allies joining her, Zuli believes she is prepared to take on the new challenges, but she will need to go farther than ever if she is to be prepared to confront the universe’s broken magic.
