Evelyn And Avery: The Art Of Friendship – Clarion Books releases a new series starter for young readers. Eight-year-old Evelyn and her friends Dylan and Avery are excited to enter their town’s annual art show. The trio plan to submit a group project, but things start to go awry right from the start. Dylan and Avery, a playful and imaginative skunk kit, begin butting heads early on in the creative process. Evelyn tries to diffuse the tension, but it backfires, and her two friends end up mad at her! With the group now split apart, the three friends wonder what this will mean for their art, and more importantly, for their friendship. Young readers will enjoy the world filled with both human and animal friends as they navigate friendship and emotions in a way that is reliable and whimsical.

Heebie Jeebies – Papercutz releases a spooky graphic novel for middle school readers. Best friends Blue and Herschel are definitely not the coolest kids at Amberline Middle School. Regarded as bumbling losers, they are often the target of the school’s popular bullies. When they hear about a cursed treasure buried beneath their middle school, the two boys believe finding it could solve all their problems. Blue, Herschel, and one annoyed night janitor set off to investigate their school after dark, only to find the treasure is haunted by those who tried to find it before and died in the attempt! This title is perfect for middle school readers looking for something sure to surprise, delight, and terrify!
