Exclusive: 2025 YA Graphic Novels from Skybound Comet | News
We’ve got an exclusive for GC4K readers today: Skybound is revealing their 2025 YA graphic novel lineup, and you’re reading it here first.
Skybound is the studio helmed by Robert Kirkman, co-creator of The Walking Dead, that produces that series as well as another blockbuster, the Transformers/G.I. Joe crossover Void Rivals. In 2021 Skybound launched Comet, a middle-grade and YA imprint, with three titles: Clementine, a Walking Dead spinoff by Tillie Walden; Everyday Hero Machine Boy, by Irma Kniivila and Tri Vuong; and Scurry, by Mac Smith. Skybound and Comet graphic novels are published and distributed by Image Comics.
That’s the backstory. Here’s what’s coming up in 2025:
Clementine Book Three, by Tillie Walden (creator of Spinning and On a Sunbeam), brings the trilogy about an injured teenager searching for safety in the zombie apocalypse to a close. In the final volume, Clementine has found a home, a girlfriend, and a cat, but she doesn’t stay safe for long. A terrible loss brings with it a new mentor and a new opportunity that comes with a heavy cost. “Clementine Book 3 is one of the darkest and most interesting stories I’ve ever written,” Walden said in a statement accompanying the announcement. “I’m so excited for everyone to be able to be with Clementine as her story comes to a close!” Clementine Book Three will be released in June 2025.

Family Force V, by writer Matt Braly and artist Ainsworth Lin, is a coming-of-age story about a girl who is worried about the usual high-school things – grades, friends, extracurriculars, her crush – but also has to go out and fight kaiju, giant monsters (think Godzilla) with her family, because that’s what families do. Well, this family, anyway. A tragedy causes her to question everything, however, including whether this is really who she wants to be. “FFV is an exploration of grief, responsibility, and identity all wrapped up in a loving homage to one of my favorite genres,” commented Braly, who is the executive producer of the Disney series Amphibia. “Demon aliens, animesque butt-kicking action, and cringy teenage antics all wrapped around a squishy heartfelt center,” added Lin. “Just a great time all around!” Pub date is May 2025.
Pizza Witch, by Sarah Graley and Stef Purenins, the creative team behind Donut the Destroyer, stars Roxy, who wants to be the best Pizza Witch ever, despite a distinct lack of enthusiasm from her boss and her parents. That is, until she discovers that her boss has entered her in a Pizza Artifact quest, and now she has to level up her Pizza Magic. “We can’t wait for readers to meet Roxy!” Graley said. “She’s a trainee witch with a big heart. She might not always take the easiest route to what she wants but she’s always ready to take the most interesting and chaotic one!”
“Pizza Witch is a story filled with all of our favorite things; magic, adventure and, of course, pizza!” added Purenins. “It’s also a story all about finding your own path and sticking with it, even when things get hard. Roxy might get knocked down, but she always finds a way to get back up.” Pizza Witch is set for September 2025 release.
