Unico Vol. 1: Awakening GN – Graphix releases the reboot of a beloved manga from the “God of Manga,” Osamu Tezuka. Unico, a young Unicorn, is banished from heaven and forgets who he once was after enraging the evil goddess Venus. Saved from oblivion by the kindhearted West Wind, Unico awakens in a mysterious land and is befriended by a resourceful watch cat, Chloe. The pair find refuge with a kindly but helpless old woman. Chloe begs Unico to turn her into a human girl so she can take care of the old woman, but this act of kindness awakens Venus and her minion Byron, who are intent on destroying them both! Developed in collaboration with Tezuka Productions, this incredible adventure across space and time will appeal to manga fans and middle school readers alike.

Skeleanor The Decomposer GN – Penguin Workshop releases the debut graphic novel from creator Emily Ettlinger. Skeleanor loves music more than life itself. She wants nothing more than to share her love with the people of Little Casketon. The only problem is she always seems to scare people away, no matter what instrument she plays, from the fiddle to the xylobone. The Little Casketon Summershine Festival is coming up, and the town band is missing a player. With the help of her best friend Batima, Skeleanor is determined to show the people of Casketon her skills and finally take center stage. This story about chasing your passions no matter what other people say will make a great addition to any middle school collection.
