Haru Volume 1 Spring GN – Andrew McMeel’s kid imprint AMP releases the start of a new series that follows the seasons. Haru, a small bird who dreams of flying, and their best friend Yama, a talkative boar, dream of leaving the Valley. They are bullied at school, frustrated at home, and struggling to figure out who they are. When they find a strange artifact that causes sinister effects and attaches itself to Haru, the pair must travel to The Beacon to find answers. What they learn sends them on an epic journey to destroy the artifact and save the world. Filled with heart, this coming-of-age story is the perfect read for middle-graders.
DnDoggos Volume 1 Get The Party Started GN – Feiwel and Friends releases a middle-grade graphic novel about four dogs ready to save the day. Magnus can’t wait to share his favorite role-playing game with his friends. With their characters picked and armed with their favorite dice, they are ready to set off on the adventure Magnus has created for them. Pickles, a rough-and-tumble fighter, Tonka, a playful and fun-loving bard, and Zoey, a wise and caring cleric are tasked with fetching a magical dog collar from a nearby swamp. But upon their triumphant return, they find all the squeaky toys in the town of Tail’s Bend have disappeared! With the adventurers gone, Squish, the mayor’s young son, set off on his own to find them. It’s up to the Doggos to rescue Squish, track down the missing toys and save the day! Fans of D&D campaigns filled with humor and heart as well as middle-grade readers will enjoy the start of this new series.
