The Picks:
Sunny Makes Her Case GN – Graphix releases the latest volume in the adventures of Sunny! Sunny feels like she’s finally understanding the ins and outs of middle school. But there’s one thing she’s still missing. Most of the kids have something they do outside of class, a sport or club. As she is searching for what she can do, her friend Arun tells her about wanting to start a debate club. She doesn’t know what that means at first, but Arun and the advisor show her that there is more to debate than just arguing. There’s also teamwork, research, and being able to speak up in front of judges. Sunny’s never had a problem with speaking up. The debates start out fun – arguing which candy is best or if peanut butter is a force for good or evil. But when the club starts to be a success, Sunny realizes she won’t be able to just talk her way into winning. She’ll have to make her case! This volume is a must for fans of the Sunny series and any graphic novel library.
Zor #1 – Keepspot Entertainment debuts a new series filled with magic and heart. Young Zoe Robertson is mourning the passing of her mother. To help her, her dad gives her a gift of a ring, to always feel like her mom is close. But, as children do, she loses it down the sink drain. As she cries, her tears come to life, and ZOR is born. This magical being begins his travels down the drain to find the ring. Along the way, he makes new friends, and must stop the evil Lady Hourglass! This magical adventure will appeal to readers young and old.
