The Picks:

Art Club GN – Little Brown Ink releases a new graphic novel drawn from the author’s own childhood. Dale Donavan is a kid with a creative streak. All he wants to do is doodle, play video games and create comics—maybe even as a full-time job one day. But between his grandfather pushing him to focus on his studies and a school with zero interest in funding art programs, he is lectured over and over that art will get him nowhere in life. Feeling like his future has already been decided for him, Dale pushes back with the perfect plan: an after-school art club filled with creative students like himself. He can prove all the naysayers wrong, but only if the club is financially successful by the end of the semester. Otherwise the club will be shut down. This volume is perfect for middle-grade readers with its themes of standing up for themselves against adult pressures and staying true to what’s important.

My Little Pony Classics Reimagined Valentine’s Day Special Romeo And Juliet #1 – IDW Publishing is back with another reimagined classic just in time for Valentine’s Day. In the fair city of Verpona, a pair of star-crossed ponies, Pinkie Pie and Cheese Sandwich have fallen in love. This reignites an ancient rivalry between their families, the Capulets and Montagues, who both run party-planning businesses, both alike in silliness. With both sides starting to polish up their sparkliest party cannons, it’s up to the pair to help their companies find common ground before Princess Cadance bans them from ever partying again! Expect lots of balloons, streamers and sparkles in this zany take on a Shakespeare classic!
