Nell Of Gumbling My Extremely Normal Fairy-Tale Life GN – Random House Children’s Books releases a new graphic novel-diary hybrid about a girl and her perfectly average magical life. The Magical Land of Gumbling might seem like something out of a fairy tail, but to Nell Starkeeper, it’s just home. As she prepares to start seventh grade, she dreams of getting the apprenticeship with the world-famous artist Wiz Bravo. But these dreams are dashed when she’s instead matched with boring old Mrs. Birdneck in the town archives while her rival, the perfect Leabelle, gets to work with Wiz, something mean girl Viola won’t let Nell forget. Things seem to go from bad to worse as her best friend Myra, a fairy, is more interested in hanging out with Leabelle and saving the town from strangers who keep talking about turning Gumbling into a fancy resort than being friends with Nell anymore. Nell must somehow find a way to save everything that makes her world magical, while figuring out where she belongs in it. Author Emma Steinkellner is also the creator of the graphic novel The Okay Witch.

Sonic The Hedgehog Amy’s 30th Anniversary Special #1 – IDW Publishing continues the celebrations for Sonic the Hedgehog with an issue featuring Amy Rose. Amy and her woodland friends are having a picnic where she shows them her Fortune Cards. The first card foretells danger as Metal Sonic interrupts the party. In order to save her friends and stop Dr. Eggman, she must use her cards as a guide. Step aside Sonic, as this cool, sweet and pink hedgehog not only saves the day, but still makes it back in time for tea! Fans of Amy Rose will love seeing this classic character getting the spotlight with a story of her own.
