Elinor Wonders Why: Bugging Out – Kids Can Press releases the second set of books based on the PBS Kids animated series. Insect Day is coming up at school, and Elinor already knows what type of insect she’s going to be. She loves butterflies, with their wings and pretty colors. With her dad’s help, she starts to plan how she’ll make her costume. Cardboard and paint for the wings, and glue to put it all together, but there’s still one more thing she needs before she can get started. Elinor knows butterflies have two antennae and four wings. But how many legs do they have? She heads out into the garden, magnifying glass in hand, to observe and find the answers, and even ask some new questions along the way! This STEM story will inspire curiosity in its readers while teaching them scientific skills. Its a great addition to any graphic novel library.

Love Report – Hippo Park releases the first volume in a new graphic novel series. BFFs Grace and Lola have a lot of questions about the mystery of romance. What was the mysterious allure of the popular girl at school? What about the rebellious goth with the reputation? And what about boys? They don’t understand what makes some school romances work while other flirtations fizzle. Then Lola has the idea to observe, study and analyze all the couples at their Junior High, and compile their findings as The Love Report. They are in for some surprises, and will have to learn to see beyond appearances. This title will appeal to fans of Drama and the Berrybrook Middle School series.
