More ‘Smurfs Tales’ Coming from Papercutz | News

Today’s news is that a new Smurfs graphic novel is in the works from Papercutz. The Smurfs Tales: The Smurfs and the Sorcerer’s Love is the eighth Smurfs Tales book in this series; although Smurfs creator Peyo is credited as the author, he died in 1992 and the series was continued in collaboration with his son, Thierry Culliford. In this volume, the Smurfs do a little matchmaking to get their enemy Gargamel squared away. Here’s the publisher’s description:
Life for Gargamel has been frustrating as of late: he’s tired of hunting, living alone, and cooking for himself. A lady companion would be a solution… but who would take the frumpy evil sorcerer as a companion?! If love is magic, can even Gargamel be transformed for the better? The Smurfs think so and concoct a scheme to get Gargamel partnered up! Also featuring the Smurfs’ friends Johan and Peewit in an adventure of their own. Johan, the royal page, and Peewit, the court jester, investigate the truth behind a young noble with exceptional swordsmanship. Plus: Join the Smurfs for tales of magic and sorcery, along with fun short stories showcasing the whole Smurfs Village.
The Smurfs Tales: The Smurfs and the Sorcerer’s Love is rated by the publisher for ages 7-12 and will be published on October 24, 2023, in two formats, paperback and hardcover.
