Dungeons And Dragons Dungeon Club Volume 1 Roll Call GN – Harper Alley and Wizards of the Coast team up for a graphic novel series aimed at middle-grade readers. Olivia and Jess have been best friends forever. They love to make up stories, first with little-kid games of imagination, and now with the tabletop roleplaying game Dungeons & Dragons. Olivia runs the game as Dungeon Master while Jess plays solo as a take-no-prisoners, lone-wolf character she designed named Sir Corius. But, when Olivia tries to expand the club by adding a new player, Jess finds herself struggling to share their game-and her best friend. This new series blends the trials and tribulations of school with the fantasy world of D & D. Its a great addition to any graphic novel library.
Librarian Of Auschwitz GN – Henry Holt releases a new edition of the graphic novel adaptation inspired by a the true story of Holocaust survivor Dita Kraus for middle school readers. Dita Kraus is fourteen-years-old and one of the many imprisoned by the Nazis at Auschwitz. Along with her mother and father, they were taken from the Terezin ghetto in Prague, and forced to adjust to the constant terror that is life in the camp. Freddy Hirsch, a Jewish leader, asks Dita to take charge of the eight precious volumes the prisoners have managed to sneak past the guards. Dita agrees, and becomes the librarian of Auschwitz. Filled with courage and hope despite coming from one of the darkest chapters of human history, this extraordinary story will inspire and move readers. (Check out our Preview here.)
