Spirit Week GN – Little Brown Books For Young Readers releases a graphic novel filled with secret rooms, eerie curses, and forgotten caves. Suzy Hess, an aspiring engineer, takes a job at the famous Underlook Hotel, in the mountains above her hometown of Estes Park, Colorado. She is supposed to be tutoring Danny, the son of the hotel’s only guest, Jack Axworth, a reclusive horror writer. Instead, she finds herself investigating a local curse that threatens to close down the landmark hotel. She is joined by Elijah Jones, an amateur filmmaker from Boston looking to make a film about the recursive horror writer, and Rena Hallorann, the hotel’s caretaker. With only a week, it’s a race against time to solve the mystery at the heart of the Underlook to uncover the shadows of the past and save the hotel and town. Middle grade readers will enjoy this tale that takes inspiration from the classic horror movie The Shining.
