Aru Shah And The End Of Time GN – From the Rick Riordan Presents line, here’s a story featuring mythology from the subcontinent of India. Aru Shah has a tendency to stretch the truth in order to fit in at school. When three schoolmates show up on her doorstep, she gets caught in a lie. She tries to get out of her predicament by taking on the dare that an artifact in the Museum of Ancient Indian Art and Culture, where her archaeologist mother works, is cursed. She lights the Lamp of Bharata, hoping to get out of this mess, and vows never to fib again. Instead, she frees the Sleeper, an ancient demon whose duty is to awaken the God of Destruction. With her classmates and mother frozen in time, it’s up to Aru to find the reincarnations of the five legendary Pandava brothers. As protagonists of the Hindu epic poem, the Mahabharata, they are the only ones able to journey through the Kingdom of Death to stop him. This graphic novel adapts the popular middle grade novel of the same name.
