Lunch Lady Returns in Hardcover | Preview

Lunch Lady: The First Helping cover

Jarrett J. Krosoczka‘s Lunch Lady series ran for ten books from 2009-2014. Now the first four have just been reissued as full-color hardcovers. The First Helping reprints The Cyborg Substitute and The League of Librarians, while The Second Helping includes The Author Visit Vendetta and The Summer Camp Showdown.

The publisher, Alfred A. Knopf Books for Young Readers, describes the series as follows:

Hector, Terrence, and Dee have always wondered about their school lunch lady. What does she do when she isn’t dishing out the daily special? Where does she live? Does she have a lot of cats at home? Lunch Lady doesn’t just serve sloppy joes—she serves justice!

Krosoczka, author of Hey, Kiddo, said, “I have never stopped thinking about the Lunch Lady character, talking about the books across the country, or championing the actual people running school cafeterias, so I am so thrilled to be donning the yellow gloves once again as I dive back into this world. Returning to the Lunch Lady graphic novels has been like comfort food.”
