The Picks:

A-Okay – Harper Alley releases a heartfelt semi-autobiographical graphic novel. Eighth grade isn’t going exactly as planned for Jay. All of his friends are in different classes. He has no one to sit with him at lunch, and his best friend Brace is avoiding him. He doesn’t share the same feelings two of his classmates, a girl named Amy and a boy named Mark, have for him, and he doesn’t understand why. And to top it all off, he starts school with a few pimples that go from bad to worse, and the powerful medication he’s prescribed comes with some serious side effects. Touching on themes of identity and finding one’s place, this book will appeal to fans of memoirs.

Super Turbo Volume 6 Super Turbo Vs Wonder Pig – Little Simon continues its graphic novel adaptations of its chapter books. The Superpet Superhero League works together to keep evil in check at Sunnyview Elementary, but when Super Turbo’s cape goes missing the same day that Wonder Pig starts acting strangely, he is suspicious. Wonder Pig has always said that she wishes she could fly like Turbo. He begins to question if he can trust all of his fellow super pets, and if it’s possible a member of the team is actually evil. Fans of the chapter books will enjoy the full color panels that really bring the story to life.
