The Picks:

Barb The Last Berzerker Volume 1 GN – Simon and Schuster Books for Young Readers releases a new series readers will go berzerk for! Barb is a young Berzerker, one of a group of warriors sworn to protect the land of Bailiwick from the scourge of monsters that plague it. But when her fearsome crew goes up against the nefarious Witch Head, he uses his magical sword to trick the Zerks and capture them. Barb is able to escape, and takes Witch Head’s Shadow Blade with her. It’s up to her to free her fellow warriors so they can stop Witch Head from taking over Bailiwick. With her best friend, Porkchop the Yeti, she will have to battle vampire goat fiends, snot goblins, and a giant with serious foot odor issues, all while trying to keep the power of the Shadow Blade under control. Fans of She-ra Princess of Power and Dog Man will enjoy this new series.

Yotsuba&! Volume 15 GN – Yen Press brings back an old favorite series. Yotsuba is back, and she’s going to school…almost! In this volume, Fuuka gives Yotsuba a taste of what school is like, including giving her a test where she gets a perfect score. She gets to wear a backpack, make picture books and use big-girl paints like Ena. She also collects pretty rocks, and tackles socks and banana smoothies. After waiting three years, fans will be thrilled to get the latest installment in this much loved series.
