Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Tricksters #2 | Preview
We’ve got something a little different for you today: A preview of an ongoing series, Jim Henson’s The Storyteller: Tricksters #2 from BOOM! Studios’ Archaia imprint. This is an anthology series based on Henson’s Emmy-winning TV show, featuring modern folk tales. (Here’s our review of the original first anthology.) Typically Archaia publishes four stand-alone issues with a supernatural theme, then collects them into a graphic novel. This issue is written by New York Times bestselling author Jordan Ifueko (Raybearer), with art by newcomer Erin Kubo. Here’s what the story is about:
A teen Yoruba village girl summons the great god of mischief, Eshu, to coerce her crush, a dashing hunter, to break up with his sweetheart and marry her instead. Eshu agrees to help her, revelling at the chance to wreak havoc with them all…only to find that the village girl had a mischievous plot all of her own
This issue includes a main cover by artist Peach Momoko (above) and a variant cover by Dani Pendergast (below). It is scheduled to go on sale on April 21. Enjoy!
