The Picks:
Jim Henson’s The Storyteller Tricksters #1 – Boom! Studios returns with Jim Henson’s The Storyteller with a new batch of tales. Taking shelter from a storm, a large spider sharing the space with the Storyteller and his faithful dog becomes the inspiration for a new tale, this one from Africa. Anansi, the spider god, is the son of Nyame, the sky god. Nyame has been hoarding all the stories and knowledge of man, but Anasi wants them too. He begins a quest to free all the stories from his father, but when he starts to hoard them, it’s his son that must confront him to free the knowledge that will save the world. Featuring myths from around the world, this series continues to cross cultures to entertain.
Johnny Boo Volume 12 Johnny Boo And The Silly Blizzard HC – IDW Publishing jumps into the joys of winter with the latest volume of Johnny Boo. When they wake up to see that it has snowed, Johnny Boo and Squiggle think it looks like the world is covered in ice cream and are excited to try to eat it. But the Ice Cream Monster, armed with his gigantic and mighty Ice Cream Fork, tries to eat it all first. He seems unstoppable, until all the cold in his tummy knocks him down for the count. It’s up to Johnny Boo and Squiggle to warm him up with mittens from their secret mitten box without getting lost in the silly blizzard forever. Young readers will enjoy discovering the delights of eating snow and the importance of staying warm with Johnny Boo and Squiggle.
