Secrets of Camp Whatever | Preview
We have a double treat for you today: A preview of Chris Grine’s Secrets of Camp Whatever and an interview with Grine about the story.
In this middle-grade adventure story, tween-age Willow goes reluctantly to summer camp while her family moves into their new home in the ominously named town of Nowhere. The camp is set on an island inhabited by strange creatures, from fog leeches to a Bigfoot, that were brought there years ago by a collector. Despite warnings from the locals and the camp administrators, Willow goes exploring and encounters some strange animals and even stranger people. Along the way she makes friends (and a few enemies), has a few hair-raising encounters, and learns that there’s a lot more to this camp and her new town than she expected.
Secrets of Camp Whatever will be published on March 16 by Oni Press. Here’s a sample to get you started, and check out our interview with author and artist Chris Grine as well. Enjoy!
