Girl Haven GN – Oni Press releases a new fantasy adventure for middle grade readers. Three years ago Ash’s mom left home and never came back. She left behind a husband, child, and a fantasy world called Koretris she created in her childhood. Ash invites over a group of friends from Pride Club at school, and they decide to try one of his mom’s spells to go to Koretris. Ash doesn’t think it will work, but it does, and they discover Koretris is a real place filled with fanciful landscapes and creatures, and very real danger. But Koretris is supposed to be a haven for girls, with no men or boys allowed, so why is Ash there? Everyone has always called Ash a boy. Shouldn’t the spell have kept Ash out? What does it mean if it let Ash in? Filled with a diverse cast, Girl Haven explores themes of gender and how it makes sense to readers.

X-Venture Xplorers Volume 2 Clash Of The Titans SC – Papercutz sets up another animal kingdom who-would-win match. Tarzan, one of the members of the X-Venture Xplorers, has gone missing. Jake and the other members of the zoology exploration team go to Sumatra to try and find him. Meanwhile, a clash is brewing between bears and apes, as chimpanzees, spider monkeys, pandas and sloth bears begin acting strange and aggressive. The X-Ventue Xplorers follow the biological clues to find their lost friend and answer the question of who would win in a battle between Bears and Gorillas. This educational adventure includes detailed entries about each animal, flexing the power of both brain and brawn.
