The Picks:

Donut The Destroyer Volume 1 GN – Graphix releases a graphic novel about friendship, family and defying expectations. In a world where everyone is born with a special ability, choosing whether to develop it for good or evil is a big decision. Donut The Destroyer (middle name: The; last name: Destroyer) is the daughter of the most infamous villains around, but wants to choose a different path. With her heart of gold and incredible strength, she has been accepted to Lionheart School for Heroes. Her best friend, Ivy, can’t understand why Donut would take the boring route of being a hero and not want to cause chaos. While Donut is determined to prove she has what it takes to be a hero, Ivy comes up with a plan to get Donut kicked out of Lionheart, and back on track to a life of villainy. Middle School readers will love to sink their teeth into this story.

Asterix Omnibus Papercutz Edition Volume 1 SC – Papercutz celebrates 60 years of Asterix with an omnibus of the first three stories. Asterix is a spunky and super powerful warrior from Gaul who defends his tiny village from the overwhelming forces of the Roman Empire. With the help of his faithful friends, boar-eating delivery man Obelix and the ecologically minded canine Dogmatrix, and a magic elixir, Asterix protects his village against impossible odds. Asterix is an international comics star and for his 60th anniversary is getting a whole new translation for a new generation of US fans to enjoy.

Asterix comes under criticism for racist stereotypes, can you tell me if these are updated versions or if these are the original?
Papercutz says it’s a new translation so I would say these are the updated versions. I can’t imagine Papercutz releasing anything problematic like that.
