Michael Recycle Meets Borat The Space Cat – IDW Publishing brings back the green super hero Michael Recycle. It’s the near future, and Michael Recycle is desperate to keep the Earth from falling over the brink into an environmental apocalypse. The sudden appearance of a visitor from another galaxy may hold the answers. Borat the Space Cat is from a parallel Earth where cats survived a similar environmental disaster and reversed the fate of the planet with the help of some Vegan Vikings. Borat has ideas on not only how Michael can stop Earth from following the same path but also how sustainability can really be achieved. This series is a great way to teach kids the importance of environmentalism and sustainability.

Doodleville GN – Knopf Books for Young Readers releases a tale about a girl whose art can have a mind of its own. Drew is an ordinary artist whose art is anything but. Her doodles can come to life and often escape Doodleville, the world Drew created in her sketchbook, to explore the outside world. After a trip to the Art Institute of Chicago, Drew is inspired to take her work to the next level, and creates Leviathan, or Levi for short. Levi is a friendly monster, bigger and better than anything she’s ever created before. But when he begins to wreak havoc on Doodleville and the heroes her fellow art club friends dreamt up, she’s going to need help to tame him. This is easier said than done after a link between Drew’s feelings and the monster’s bad behavior is found. Only with help from her friends will she be able to save Doodleville and Levi. Fans of Svetlana Chmkova’s Awkward and Rania Telgemeier’s Smile will enjoy this title.
