This Week’s Comics: Back to Work

Diamond Distributors has started shipping comics again. Many of the titles shipping this week were scheduled to release in the weeks before the country was placed in quarantine lock-down. Not all stores may have the titles listed here, or be open at all. But it is a first step to reopening the country and economy. Please support your local comic shop and the creators whose work they feature every week.

The Picks:

My Video Game Ate My Homework TP – DC Comics releases the second title in their DC Kids line that features original characters instead of familiar superheroes. Dewey Jenkins is good at fixing things, but he suffers from dyslexia. When he tries to help a friend by fixing a VR prototype game machine, his science project gets sucked into the virtual world. Dewey won’t pass science class without. Dewey and his friends embark on an adventure into the came as they take on all sorts of digital creatures and solve puzzles in order to get home. And Dewey might even find that books and reading aren’t so bad. This is a good book for reluctant readers and readers with learning disabilities to check out.

Super Sisters GN – Papercutz releases a spinoff to the French series The Sisters. Maureen and Wendy love being sisters, even if they drive each other crazy sometimes. But, they can’t argue that being a sister is super! And being a super sister is even better! With the power of their imagination, they are donning flight packs and space suits, and fighting evil to keep the galaxy safe. Taking on intergalactic thieves, and multi-limbed troublemakers, they use their powers for good, and sometimes to annoy each other. But they may be in over their heads when they face their greatest foes; their clones. Super Sisters is made up of a few short stories before launching into the main story. Fans of The Sisters will enjoy this title.
