The Picks:
Courageous Princess Volume 2 The Unremembered Lands TP – Dark Horse Comics bring a charming tale back to print in paperback. Princess Mabelrose may not be the prettiest princess in her kingdom, but she is the smartest and pluckiest! After rescuing herself from the dragon that kidnapped her and freeing the people of Leptia from a tyrant, she makes her way back home across the Unremembered lands. She then discovers that her father, King Jeryk, along with a posse of princes, has been captured by another, mightier dragon while on a quest to find her. So Mabelrose heads out again on a new quest. While Rod Espinosa’s captivating tale that shows courage isn’t limited by gender, status, nor accident of birth is available digitally, Dark Horse Comics is bringing it back in paperback for fans of physical books and for libraries to stock their shelves.
Yuzu The Pet Vet Volume 1 GN – Kodansha Comics releases a manga about helping animals and in turn helping yourself. Yuzu goes to live with her uncle when her mom gets sick and has to be hospitalized. Her uncle is a vet who runs the local animal hospital. Yuzu’s always been scared of animals, but an encounter with a boy and his dog turns her fear into a desire to learn. As she works to understand her fuzzy friends, they begin to feel comfortable around each other, and Yuzu learns that she can get through the tough moments in her life with a little help from her animal pals, her peers, and kind grown-ups. This series has cute art and a charming story, and animal lovers of all ages will want to check it out.
