The Picks:
What’s Michael Fatcat Collection Volume 1 TP – Dark Horse Comics brings the beloved cat manga back into print. What’s Michael is about an orange tabby named Michael, his owners, and the cats that live in his neighborhood. Often called Japan’s Garfield, this series is filled with true-to-life daily cat scenarios as well as some zany cat fantasies with Michael and his cat friends playing baseball, and acting like 1930’s gangsters. With over 500 pages, it’s filled with lots of humor, quite a bit of it being funny because it’s true. And cat dancing. Lots of cat dancing. The series has been out of print for almost 2 decades, so it’s great that Dark Horse is finally bringing it back for old fans to revisit and new fans to discover.
I Survived Volume 1 I Survived The Sinking Of Titanic 1912 GN – Graphix brings the popular chapter books to the graphic novel format. 10-year-old George Calder is crossing the Atlantic with his Aunt Daisy and sister Phoebe. He’s excited to be on the famous Titanic, and can’t wait to explore every inch of the huge ship. But when he ventures into the first class storage cabin, there is a terrible boom that shakes the entire boat. Suddenly, water is everywhere, and George’s life is changed forever. Combining historical facts with high action stories about kids surviving disasters, this graphic novel edition will appeal to readers who prefer the format and may bring in more fans for this already popular series.
