Noisemakers 25 Women Who Raised Their Voices And Changed The World SC – Knopf Books for Young Readers makes some noise with a collection from the creators of Kazoo magazine. No one got anywhere by being quiet. To change anything, you have to make some noise! And the creators of Kazoo magazine, a quarterly magazine for girls ages 5-12 is doing just that. With the help of 25 extraordinary comics artists, this book looks at the lives of 25 extraordinary women, such as Eugenie Clark, who swam with sharks, Raye Montague, who revolutionized the design process for ships, Hedy Lamarr, a beautiful actress and brilliant inventor, Julia Child, a chef who wasn’t afraid to make mistakes, and Kate Warne, the first female detective, who saved the life of President-Elect Abraham Lincoln, just to name a few. Noisemakers is filled with uplifting stories that helps readers see that girls are capable of doing anything they put their minds to.

Stig And Tilde Volume 2 Leader Of The Pack GN – Nobrow brings over a series that can be described as Lumberjanes meets Tintin. In the tradition of their land, fourteen-year-old twins Stig and Tilde must travel to a deserted island to live for a year without adults. Their first attempt to reach the island is foiled when their boat sinks near a haunted island. They escape that island, but are shipwrecked again on another deserted where they are welcomed by a pack of feral wolves. With only each other as backup, they must fight to survive on the mysterious island and uncover its shocking secrets. It’s filled with adventure and just a hint of the frightening; readers will be engrossed by the twins’ exploits.
