The Picks:

Science Comics Skyscrapers The Heights Of Engineering GN – First Second reaches new heights with the latest volume of Science Comics. Superheroes know how to get around skyscrapers, as they have been known to leap them in a single bound. But there are more to these tall buildings than just being obstacles. A superhero duo sets out to uncover the secrets of skyscrapers. Starting with the great Egyptian pyramids, to the invention of the elevator, to the race to be crowned the tallest building in the world, these superheroes will show how the towering titans are designed and built with a bold combination of applied physics, ingenuity and a lot of hard work! This STEM oriented topic will appeal future architects and engineers, as well as anyone with the curiosity to learn how these man-made wonders are built.

Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #50 – Marvel Comics bids an explosive farewell to one of their most outrageous superheroes. Doreen Green as Squirrel Girl has taken on many of the heroes and villains of the Marvel Universe. Her throwing of words rather than fists first has earned her the goodwill of several of them, who now come to her aid as she tries to stop the greatest villain of them all, Doctor Doom! Squirrel Girl has been eating nuts and kicking butt for the last 49 issues, but it’s the power of friendship that will surely save the day! Unbeatable Squirrel Girl has been one of the few comics in the Marvel Comics lineup that tweens could enjoy. It is truly sad to see it go.
