The Picks:
Little Jackie Lantern HC – IDW helps young ones prepare for the spooky holiday. Halloween is coming, and Little Jackie Lantern is worried! Ever since he was two years old, he’s been afraid of the haunted holiday. All the spooky ghosts, ghouls and witches he’s sure to encounter while trick-or-treating has him fretting. This year, he needs to find the courage to join his friends and learn how fun Halloween can truly be instead of what he usually does-running home frightened. Written for young readers, this is a good title to show the little ones not to be scared of a holiday that is all in good fun.
Hilda And The Mountain King HC – Hilda is back with another action-packed adventure from Nobrow – Flying Eye Books. Picking up where The Stone Forest left off, Hilda wakes up to find herself in the body of a troll, while her mother deals with the strange creature that has taken Hilda’s place. Now, it’s a race to save human and troll-kind as they must reunite before Ahlberg and his safety patrol get the chance to use their new secret weapon against the trolls, and taking Hilda down along with them! Hilda continues to be a highly recommended read for young and old alike.
