The Picks:
Scooby-Doo’s Greatest Adventures TP – Scooby Doo turns 50 this year, and to celebrate this milestone, DC Comics has created a collection of stories from Mystery, Inc.’s past. Starting with the first issue published in 1997, it includes stories from the series Scooby-Doo, Scooby-Doo Where Are You? and select tales from Scooby-Doo Team-Up. There are appearances by DC superheroes such as Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, and a whole menagerie of super pets as well as the spooks, scares and silliness that made Scooby-Doo a household name in the first place. Fans young and old will want to pick up this special anniversary issue!
Ants Don’t Wear Pants HC – Toon Books is back with some giggling and learning about the tiny insects known as ants. Two children are shrunk to ant size and investigate an ant hill on their playground. There they learn about the insect’s anatomy, the life cycle of an ant and the colony, and the hierarchy of the colony. They learn some interesting facts like ants hear with their legs and smell with their antennae, and they get some details on the different varieties of ant species. Kevin McCloskey continues his trademark humor while imparting plenty of facts to keep emerging readers interested. Insect-loving kids won’t want to pass this volume up.
