Surfside Girls Volume 2 The Mystery At The Old Rancho GN – IDW gets ready for more mystery and adventure down at the beach. When one of the ghosts from Danger Point gets spooked, she turns to Sam and Jade for help. The girls pull out the Journal of Weird and get to work. While they are running all over town and beyond trying to solve the 200-year-old mystery, Surfside’s Annual Surf competition is going down. With a cute surfer boy, a mysterious mustached man with a guitar, and a very jealous Sam getting in the way, the surfing sleuths have their work cut out for them if they are going to save the day again! Surfside Girls is the perfect balance of adventure, mystery and summer fun that readers of all ages will enjoy.
Debian Perl Digital Detective Volume 1 The Memory Thief Book GN – Lion Forge introduces a series to help middle grade readers build a practical knowledge of coding while solving mysteries. Debian Perl is a technomancer in the big city of Megalopolis, once a hub for all the makers, doers and dreamers. Now, “Egg-heads” like Digits, a social media guru, fill the city streets, preferring the ease and simplicity of new technology as opposed to Debian’s out-of-date computer programming. Debian and Digits cross paths when they both stumble across a 100-year-old lost robot names Ray-Bot. Ray-Bot’s CPU was suspiciously overclocked, leaving him unable to perform basic functions and commands. To solve Ray-Bot’s mystery, Debian must teach Digits about computer coding and programming in order to put the pieces together and get the robot back home. Fans of the First Second series Secret Coders, or anyone interested in computer programming will want to pick this series up.
