The Picks:
Disney Aladdin Four Tales Of Agrabah GN – Dark Horse Comics is off to adventure with an anthology that ties into the latest Disney live action movie. Agrabah is a vibrant Middle Eastern city filled with wonders and adventure. Follow three tales that take place before the beginning of the movie, showing a day in the life of Aladdin, Jasmine, and Genie, as well as discovering what Raj, Abu, and Magic Carpet are up to. One story takes place during the film, but, you know, spoilers. These four interconnected tales bring the individuality and spirit of Aladdin and his friends to the forefront, expanding on the live action movie due to come out later this month. Disney fans won’t want to miss this one.
Ghost Hog GN – Oni Press releases a new graphic novel by the creator of Mermin, Joey Weiser. Truff is the ghost of a young boar, new to the afterlife and fueled with fury towards the hunter who shot her. Guided by the forest spirits Claude and Stanley, Truff has a lot to learn. But when her parents, along with their fellow animal villagers are kidnapped by the malicious mountain demon Mava, Truff will have to choose between helping them or finally getting the revenge she has been longing for. Is vengeance all she’s good for, or is there something stronger that keeps her tethered to the living world? Weiser has crafted a story that deftly navigates loss, vengeance and acceptance. It would be a welcome addition to any middle school collection.
