The Picks:
Midas TP – Boom Studios releases the trade worth its weight in gold. Space captain Joey, navigator Fatima and scientist (and dinosaur) Cooper sneak away from Federation space to investigate a planet that has been completely sectioned off and abandoned; Earth. It’s name long forgotten to time and it’s surface and surrounding space covered in gold, the crew have come looking for the weapon that caused it. They find it, in the form of the ancient body of King Midas, the most powerful weapon in the universe. Now it a race as the crew try to keep King Midas’s body from being dropped on planets across the universe, all while trying to figure out how to deal with an old, dead dude’s body with one ridiculous superpower. This original sci-fi space comedy from the mind of Ryan North, the writer of The Unbeatable Squirrel Girl, is sure to be a smart and fun ride.
Sonic The Hedgehog Annual 2019 – IDW Publishing celebrates its first year of Sonic the Hedgehog comics with an action packed annual. Sonic is joined by several of his friends as they find the adventures that await around every corner of their world. The adventures begin with Tangle the Lemur and Whisper the Wolf teaming up to save a friend in need. Sonic and Tails take the Tornado for a spin, but is Sonic-fast just too fast? Silver and Blaze take it slow to go gardening, the Sonic Fan Club has their first official meeting, and Rouge the Bat goes treasure hunting. Bringing together creators from other hit IDW Publishing titles such as James Kochalka (Johnny Boo), Cavan Scott (Star Wars Adventures) and Jack Lawrence (Transformers: Lost Light), makes this celebration extra special. Sonic fans won’t want to miss it.
