Bill Ted Save Universe headerIt’s a small list of new releases this week after last week’s practically non-existent list, but there are still some highlights to check out. The Picks:

Bill Ted Save Universe Bill And Ted Save The Universe TP – Boom! Studios travels back to the 90s for a most bodacious adventure in time. Bill S. Preston Esq. and Ted “Theodore” Logan are Wyld Stallyns, the greatest rock band in not just the world, but even the universe! At least, they will be, if they can survive their latest adventure. While at a party in honor of their passing their senior history exam, the boys and Rufus are kidnapped by a bogus alien, only to be rescued by…their moms?! Bill and Ted join the resistance against Primary Glurm who wants to stop Wyld Stallyns from fulfilling their destiny to bring peace to the universe. The Bill and Ted movies were a lot of fun, and this comic does a good job of replicating that feel while still having it’s own style.

SDTUP_45_Print_dsScooby-Doo Team-Up #45 – DC Comics teams Mystery Inc. up with the greatest super-escape artist in the universe. Scooby-Doo and the gang go to see a performance by Scott Free, aka Mister Miracle, a death defying escape artist. But when an army of monsters from Apokolips is sent to invade the Earth by Granny Goodness, the gang is separated as Daphne and Velma are captured along with Mister Miracle’s wife, Big Barda. It’s up to Freddie, Shaggy and Scooby-Doo to join Oberon and Shiloh Norman, Mister Miracle’s manager and apprentice, and travel by Mother Box to Apokolips to help free Daphne and Velma before they are transformed into some of Granny’s Female Furies. This team-up works as a great introduction of some of Jack Kirby’s 4th World characters to younger readers.
