The Picks:
Pandora’s Legacy Volume 1 TP – Boom! Studios puts a supernatural spin on an old greek myth in this new original graphic novel. A typical vacation to Grandma and Grandpa’s house takes a supernatural turn. Siblings Charlie, Janet and Trevor find an old mystical jar, and accidentally break it, releasing magical monsters that run amok. It is then revealed to them that they are the descendants of Pandora, and their family was tasked with guarding the jar. The three kids must now work together to find a way to capture all the creatures in order to save their family and potentially the entire world. Readers will love this otherworldly tale filled with mystery, peril, and most importantly, talking cats.
Marvel Action Spider-Man #1 – IDW Publishing releases the first new series in their team-up with Marvel Comics. Peter Parker has accepted his spider-powers, but is feeling a little lonely with no one to share his secret identity. But when a newspaper internship comes up at school, with the prize being an interview with un-secret identity Tony Stark, Peter swings in. He has some competition however, in friends Miles Morales and Gwen Stacy, two other high school freshmen, who are just discovering their powers and want to talk to the famous Iron Man as well. Things are further complicated when giant dogzillas attack the city, controlled by an old Spidey super villain. IDW proves they know what middle school readers want by bringing together the three most popular web-slingers battling dog lizards. I’m in just for the dog lizards.
