The Picks:
Geronimo Stilton Reporter Volume 1 Operation Shufongfong HC – Geronimo Stilton returns in an all new comic series based on the animated series. Geronimo Stilton, ace reporter based in New Mouse City, has landed an exclusive interview with the famous Prince Nogouda. But when the rare breed of Shufongfong lizards are kidnapped from the Mouse Museum, Geronimo suspects the prince and his kingdom in the Bandel jungle may be behind it. He, along with Thea, Trap and Benjamin, set off to investigate. This long running comic has gotten an animated series that is airing on Netfilx, and with the new stories, the characters are getting a new life.
Nina in That Makes Me Mad GN – Toon Books has artist Hilary Knight work his magic again, this time on a story by veteran children’s book writer Steven Kroll. What makes Nina mad? Lots of things! Getting blamed for something she didn’t do, trying to do something that doesn’t work, or being made to wait. These little, everyday things are frustrations that all children will recognize, and will enjoy reading about as Nina speaks her mind about them, making herself feel better in the process. This title is targeted toward early readers and was originally published in hardback back in 2011. This is a new paperback edition that lets spunky Nina show and help new readers to articulate their feelings.
