By Night #1 (Of 5) – Boom! Studios releases a new title in the Boom! Box line from John Allison, the author of Giant Days, and Christine Larsen, the artist from Adventure Time. Jane is an aspiring documentarian, but is using her Masters in Chemistry to work in a commercial lab in her home town of Spectrum, South Dakota. She is reluctantly reunited with her former best friend Heather, an amateur urban explorer. While on a trip to explore an abandoned industrial building, they find a hole in the fabric of reality that leads to another world, where monsters and magic exist. They come up with a plan to make a documentary about this new world, and become filthy rich in the process. But beyond the danger and mystery, there is also a chance for a whole new life, if they just step through. Boom! Box has brought us some great titles, most notably Lumberjanes. This title has the potential to be another hit, especially with the creative team behind it. Don’t miss out on this one.
Disney Manga Miriya And Marie Aristocats GN – Tokyopop continues their series of Disney inspired manga, this time with the classic film The Aristocats. Wealthy, young, Miriya has everything she could ever need taken care of for her, except the one thing she really wants; to find her missing parents. She may finally get her wish, when she receives the extra special birthday gift of Marie, a magical white kitten. Marie whisks Miriya away to Paris, where she starts to not only learn the art of magic, but also get to eat the tastiest French pastries, and wear the most beautiful fashion, taking their journey to a whole new level! Miriya and Marie puts a fun and imaginative spin on a classic Disney character by combining magical girls, food and fashion, making it a title everyone will enjoy.
