The Picks:
Science Comics Robots And Drones GN – First Second prepares to welcome our Robot Overlords with the latest addition to their Science Comics series. Pouli, a mechanical dove, introduces readers to all kinds of robots, from the oldest, a coin-powered water fountain, to the everyday essentials we surround ourselves with today—the coffee maker, the car. Robots are all around us, affecting our lives in ways we don’t even realize, as well as in ways we don’t want to think about, such as modern-day weapons of war. Science Comics do a great job at introducing readers to topics that might seem boring or complicated and making them fun and easy to understand.
Moonstruck Volume 1 TP – Image collects the first chapter of their new all-ages adventure. Julie, a werewolf barista, wants to live a normal life with her new girlfriend Selena. But when they go on a date to a close-up magic show, all heck breaks loose as the magician casts a horrible spell on their friend (and fifth wheel) Chet. The only way to help Chet is to try to outfox the literal fox magician and stop the his dark magic before it’s too late—all while keeping Julie and Selena’s relationship intact. Lumberjanes writer Grace Ellis spins another fantastic tale filled with romance, magic, and coffee that readers of any age can get behind.
