The Picks:

Stretch 2Stretch Armstrong And The Flex Fighters #2 – IDW Publishing releases another TV(Netflix) tie-in with the return of a classic toy property Stretch Armstrong! Teenagers Stretch, Omni-Mass and Wingspan may look like average high school students by day, but by night they become the crime fighters The Flex Fighters in the futuristic Charter City. When Mantoid arrives in the city, everyone believes he is a threat, but the Flex Fighters aren’t too sure. They try to convince the Extreme Hazard Unit not to exterminate Mantoid, have little success, leaving them with one option: Monster Jail Break! Even though this is based on a the Netflix animated series, IDW still has a good track record of breathing life into Hasbro’s classic toys. I’m sure this series will be no different.

Dragon SlayerDragon Slayer Folktales From Latin America SC – Jaime Hernandez, creator of Love and Rockets, turns his sights on Latin American myths in this new volume from Toon Graphics. This book for young readers looks at stories such as a how a kitchen maid would fare against a seven-headed dragon, what happens when a woman who marries a mouse, and what a young man can learn from a thousand leaf cutter ant. Hernandez transforms these beloved myths into contemporary comics that reads of all ages can enjoy and use to explore the folklore of a region that we don’t get to hear much about. This is a must for graphic novel collections.
