The Picks:

Prince and the DressmakerPrince And The Dressmaker GN – First Second releases the new Jen Wang tale of identity, young love, art and family. Prince Sebastian is a young man with secret. Sometimes, he likes to wear dresses. When he teams up with Frances, a young dressmaker with a flair for the daring, Sebastian becomes Lady Crystallia, the hottest fashion icon to take Paris by storm. But keeping Sebastian’s secret means that Frances can’t realize her own dreams of being a well-known designer. On top of that, Sebastian’s parents are looking for a bride for their son, leaving Frances’ future prospects uncertain, and forcing her to choose between her best friend’s happiness and her own. Jen Weng creates a word filled with charming characters and a story you won’t want to put down.

Scales and SoundrelsScales And Scoundrels Volume 1 Into The Dragon’s Maw TP – Images Comics collects the first five issues of this new fantasy series. Luvander is an adventurer living in a land of magic and mystery. Tired of being penniless, she goes in search of the fables dungeon, “the Dragon’s Maw,” an ancient labyrinth that holds either endless wealth or certain doom. She begrudgingly teams up with three other adventurers, each with their own dreams of treasure; Prince Aki of the Scarlet Sands Empire, his royal Shadow Koro, and Dorma Ironweed, a stocky young dwarf. What starts out as simple search for gold and glory, becomes a journey that will shatter the chains of fate and bring light to a world held by an ancient darkness. Filled with plenty of adventure and dungeon crawling, this series will appeal to the treasure hunting adventurer in all of us.
