The Picks:
Chim Chum And The Portly Samurai #1 – American Mythology Productions bring an all ages web comic to print. The Portly Samurai, a freelance swordsman that-is-yet-to-be-named and of questionable origins and his plucky, silent fox sidekick have been down on their luck. When they finally land a paying gig, they become unwitting players in the mystery of a legendary lost city. This series is based on a single panel gag web comic by former Disney artist Adrian Ropp, who is adapting his creation to the monthly serialization format. This is a series readers of any age will love.
Regal Academy Volume 1 A School For Fairy Tales GN – Papercutz brings another Nick Jr. cartoon to comics. Rose Cinderella grew up on Earth, but when she finds a magic that unlocks a door to the Fairy Tale Land, she learns she is the granddaughter of Fairy Tale Cinderella. She enrolls in Regal Academy, where her grandmother is headmistress, and befriends the grandchildren of other famous fairy tale princes and princesses, while stopping the evil plans of Vicky Broomstick and her henchmen. This series is based on a cartoon that originally aired in Italy and was brought over to the US by Nickelodeon. Disney fans and lovers of fairy tales will enjoy this series’ different take on these traditional characters.
