Jim Henson’s The Storyteller Fairies #1 – Boom! Studios brings out a new installment of Jim Henson’s The Storyteller. This series focuses on mythic tales about fairies from around the world. This first issue tells a tale from Iceland, “The Elf Queen and the Shepherd,” where a Fairy Princess is cursed to the human realm and to bring death with her. Shepherd Grettir the Strong must find the source of the curse and free her from it. The Storyteller series not only shares tales of folklore from around the world, but also features new and upcoming talent, giving both exposure to new audiences. These are musts for comic and graphic novel collections alike.
Little Guardians TP – Small publisher Scout Comics releases the collection of their all ages series. Subira thought she just the local shop girl for her village. But when a strange spirit panther starts following her around, she realizes might be destined for bigger things. Idem, who was never meant to be a warrior, is training with Tane, the appointed guardian who protects the village from constant attack from monsters. But as the attacks escalate, it becomes they can’t save everyone. Subira must discover the truth behind her connection to the spirit world in time to help Tane, who is also her father, and save her village.
