The Picks:
Adventure Time 2017 Spoooktacular #1 – Boom! Studios celebrates Halloween in the Land of Ooo with some new short stories. Peppermint Butler stars in three stories of malevolent mintiness, where he must resort to dark magick to launder his bow tie, fight in the War of the Magicians, and gets detoured into an abandoned how with only the book “The Joy of Candy” to keep him occupied. Then it’s off to the Land of Aaa, as Butterscotch Butler is determined to keep Marshall Lee from ruining Prince Gumball’s spooky masquerade. These Spoooktaculars are becoming as much of a holiday tradition as The Simpson’s Treehouse of Horrors and are just as fun!
Wrapped Up #1 – Lion Forge’s Cub House imprint introduces a new mini-monster at the most spookiest time of the year. Milo is an average twelve-year-old boy, if it’s average is to have mummies for parents and witches for babysitters. He still does the typical kid stuff, like, going to school, visiting the comic book store, hanging out with cool teen vampires, playing with magical kitties, visiting a family of talking dogs, and avoiding a love-crazed gorilla at all costs. As a new monthly series, Wrapped Up is a great way to keep the Halloween spirit going all year long.
