The Picks:
Your Pal Archie #1 – Archie Comics brings back the classic-style Archie with a bit of a modern twist. The Archie reboot breathed new life into the Riverdale universe, but that doesn’t mean there isn’t room for the classic style. Archie and his friends return with the stories you loved, such as Jughead begging Archie to teach him to drive, and Archie getting stood up by Veronica who choses the opera over a picnic. The only change is the characters’ designs, which are a mix of the classic Archie style and the more modern look of the reboot. It’s like getting the best of both worlds!
Not-So Secret Society GN – BOOM! Studios has a not-so-secret coming-of-age adventure for all ages. Madison, Dylan, Emma, Aidan, and Ava are pretty normal for 12-year-olds. They go to school and participate in extracurricular activities. As the Not-So-Secret Society, they also have awesome adventures together! For their school’s annual science fair, the kids invent a candy-making machine. But when things go wrong, and their candy creation comes to life and escapes, it’s up to the Not-So-Secret Society to stop it from destroying the entire city! The writing team of Matthew Daley, of Lantern City, and Arlene Daley has crafted an adventure that celebrates the value of teamwork and lifelong friendships.
