This Week’s Comics: Plum Hanazuki

Old titles and new return on this week’s list of new releases. American Mythology Productions continues their release of classic comic and animated characters with Casper the Friendly Ghost #1. Zodiac Starforce returns to Dark Horse in the new miniseries Cries of the Fire Prince, and Papercutz brings back a classic of claymation in his own graphic novel series, Gumby.

Hanazuki Full Of Treasures #1 – IDW Publishing releases a new comic based on a digital-first Hasbro show: Hanazuki is the new protector of a group of cutie-pies known as Hemkas, small bunny-like creatures who each represent one specific emotion. She is also the guardian of special treasures on the moon that can keep the darkness at bay, that will keep sprouting as long as she learns to work with the Hemkas. This first issue is based on the first episode “A Moonflower is Born”, and tells the origin of Hanazuki. The series was announced on GC4K earlier this year, and you can see more information and some sample covers here.

Plum Crazy Tales Of A Tiger Striped-Cat Volume 1 GN – Seven Seas Entertainment lets loose a new cat manga on the world. Plum, a tiger-striped cat, lives with single mother Miss Nakari and her teenage son Taku. Plum is comfortable in her everyday life. She has many friends among the neighborhood cats and can not only understand what people say to her but can even tell what’s in their minds. But the introduction of a mischievous kitten named Snowball to Plum’s happy household threatens to turn her world completely topsy turvy!
